The reception area of this large architectural firm is defined by a series of geometric vertical and horizontal planes, niches, and openings anchored by a sculptural reception desk. The design of the desk evokes a sense of dynamic functionality, utilizing modern materials in a simple “kit-of-parts”. The “frame” of cold-rolled steel combined with a “shell” of clear sandblasted acrylic became the expressive first impression of the office.
